Firstly, for the purposes of this article, barefoot running doesn’t necessarily mean running in bare feet. It does, however, mean running with a shoe that ‘mimics’ the barefoot experience in that it doesn’t interfere with the pattern the foot and ankle would normally take during the gait cycle.
